Heated Slippers
Heated slippers are shoes with a rubber sole that you can quickly put on (“slip” on) that keep your feet warm. These “heated shoes” can be worn either in the home or outside in the yard and on the go. There are three types of electric slippers that are best to keep your feet warm: 1) battery-heated slippers, 2) electric-heated slippers, 3) USB-heated slippers, and 4) microwaveable slippers. There are numerous pairs of heating slippers at Walmart. Walmart’s selection cannot be beat: for sports fans, there are slippers customized for your favorite sports team with your favorite team logo embedded.
While there are many heated shoes out there on the market, there are only a few brands that are most popular:
- Carex
- Cozy Toze
- Earth Therapeutics
- Dream Time
- Herbal Concepts
- ValueRays USB slippers
Carex slippers are made of polyester and come with various scents to make these slippers “pleasant to be around.” Cozy Toze slippers sell for less than $20 and have varied colors and fashion styles. Earth Therapeutics is responsible for their production of the “organic” microwave slipper with aromatherapy scents. Earth Therapeutics slippers sell for $25 at Amazon.com. Dream Time slippers are one of the expensive slippers ($40), and Herbal Concepts are known for their herbal blend that is sure to help relax and soothe your feet. The ValueRays USB slippers sell for $20 and have a 65-inch cord attached that you can plug up to a socket or surge protector while you sit at the computer and surf the Internet on a cold day. Believe it or not, there are heated slippers for men such as moccasins, wrap-arounds, outdoor booties, slide-ons, and outdoor clogs that provide warmth for men whose feet are prone to coldness. Men can go to work with heated slippers on if they are comfortable enough to do so.
Battery heated slippers are rechargeable slippers that provide heat for as long as the battery lasts. A battery is a rechargeable (or non-rechargeable) storage cell that contains chemical energy that dissolves at some point. The batteries contained in your slippers work the same way: within them, chemical energy is stored—energy in the form of heat. When you walk, you can select the “on” button and your batteries will begin to convert the chemical energy contained within to heat for your feet. Batteries come in various shapes, numerous sizes, forms, and types (AA, AAA, C, CC, CCC, D, DD, etc.), and based on the voltage of each, some will last longer than others (although four hours is the average time a battery lasts). Battery slippers can come with one, two, or three batteries attached in a safe compartment in the slipper so as to feel comfortable when you walk.
Some types of battery slippers are: 1) nature creation warm-ups, 2) rechargeable battery, 3) CosySoles, 4) volt resistance, 5) volt rechargeable heated indoor/outdoor, and so on.
Electric heated slippers are comfortable shoes that contain heating pads within them to provide the warmth for the consumer. Carbon fiber is a great material to use for electric slippers. Carbon fiber provides insulation for your feet when you are wearing electric slippers, keeping out cold air and preventing sickness in the process. Electric slippers can have a battery or no battery.
USB heated slippers are heated shoes that have a USB cable attached to them. All you need to do to get warm in these is plug the USB cable into a PC or a laptop and feel them start to warm. That is correct—these shoes are best worn when they are attached to a computer source. Each slipper comes with a control function that allows you to slip them on and set them to warm, one at a time. The slippers come in the typical sizes: 1) small, 2) medium, 3) large, and 4) extra large. USB slippers are ideal to wear while at the desktop or laptop computer screen. If you have an online job and privilege to work from home, these are ideal for your home living arrangement. USB slippers have been voted, according to some in the online world, as one of “the weirdest USB inventions ever.”
Some types of USB slippers are: 1) cartoon, 2) cordless, 3) dual, 4) red-plush, one-piece, 5) Cow, 6) Hedgehog, 7) male model,
pleasant goat plush, 9) dinosaur foot, 10) Pineapple Bread Battery, 11) Teddy Bear, 12) 35-degree Celsius, 13) 43-degree Celsius, 14) Rabbit Zipper, 15) Leopard Paw, and others containing various colors—among them pink, blue, red, and sports slippers. The dual USB slippers come with controls for each slipper and allow you to set two different temperatures to each slipper for your feet. Pretty cool, huh?
Heated slippers come for both men and women. There are different designs and fashions for men and women, as well as different sizes (most men have larger feet than women). In addition, there are different materials used to make them, some moccasin, others polyester, and so on. Additionally, heated slippers, once varied according to size, color, material, and fashion, now vary according to technology—some use batteries, others use infrared lighting, and some require microwave heating or a USB cable. As you can see, these warm slippers will stick around for years to come, with many innovations to follow.
